After Premier League relegation
Wout Weghorst has joined Besiktas. The 29-year-old forward will leave relegated Burnley for one season on loan. “Our highest priority in the attack is Wout Weghorst,” Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi said in mid-June to Sporx.
The Istanbul-based club will not pay a loan fee but instead pay the full €2.8 million in salary Weghorst earns at Burnley—plus potential bonuses of up to €200,000. Neither club disclosed whether there is a purchase option in the player’s loan contract.
