Special transfer from Russia

In Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, another Rubin Kazan player has used FIFA’s special transfer window for foreign players playing for Russian clubs. The Georgian star is headed home to Dinamo Batumi, where in terms of market value, he is setting a significant new benchmark in the club’s squad.

Dinamo are the current champion and league leaders of Georgia’s Erovnuli Liga. After signing Kvaratskhelia, Batumi’s squad value is now four times higher than that of the second most valuable squad in the league, Dinamo Tbilisi. With a market value of €16 million, the winger is worth twice as much as the entire Dinamo Batumi squad. Irakli Azarovi was the most valuable player in the league with a market value of €1 million.

The Batumi player already was significantly ahead of the third most valuable player in the league. Kvaratskhelia is a Dinamo Tbilisi product and will be on loan until the summer—his contract at Rubin Kazan expires in 2024.
