Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest face a midweek showdown against Brighton & Hove Albion at the City Ground. Nottingham Forest will be aiming to build on an improved performance in their last game against Liverpool, which saw them come from behind twice before eventually losing 3-2. The Tricky Trees have slipped to 19th in the Premier League table after a winless run of 11 matches, but they have an impressive record at home soil and will be hopeful of taking advantage of a deflated Brighton outfit.

Brighton, on the other hand, suffered penalty heartbreak against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals, despite dominating large spells of the contest. The Seagulls have plenty to play for between now and the end of the season, as they find themselves eighth in the Premier League table with as many as three games in hand over certain rivals. They have only lost one of their last seven league encounters and have also scored at least two goals in nine of their last 14 Premier League games.

However, Brighton have injury concerns with Adam Lallana, Jeremy Sarmiento and Tariq Lamptey all out of action. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have suffered yet another injury blow with Scott McKenna being forced off with a suspected collarbone issue in their last game. With a number of defensive options already on the sidelines, Steve Cooper has limited options in defence.

Despite Brighton’s injury concerns, they should still have enough quality to overcome a struggling Nottingham Forest side. The Seagulls are expected to notch their third victory in four Premier League outings with a predicted scoreline of 2-1.
