Interim update Bundesliga
Transfermarkt.at has given the market values of the Austrian Bundesliga an interim update ahead of the start of the spring rounds, reassessing 28 players. The biggest winner is US international Brenden Aaronson of serial title winners Red Bull Salzburg, who cracks the €20 million mark with an increase of €8 million and moves into third place in the ranking of the league’s most valuable players behind teammates Karim Adeyemi (€35 million) and Mohamed Camara (€23 million).
“In the winter, Salzburg rejected an offer of €20 million for Aaronson from Leeds United,” TM market value admin Saviola92 explains the big jump of the 21-year-old midfielder. “The fact that there is a huge market for him in the US from a marketing perspective should make him even more valuable in the future.” Aaronson also makes a leap up the rankings of the most valuable US players, overtaking FC Barcelona’s Sergiño Dest (€18 million), among others, and is tied for fourth place with Leipzig’s Tyler Adams now.
The Champions League round of 16 participants from Salzburg continue to increase their squad value beyond that and are valued at €220 million after the update – a team from Austria has never been worth more. In addition to Aaronson, goal-scoring right-back Rasmus Kristensen (+€2 million to €15 million), who has 16 goal contributions (9 goals/7 assists) across all competitions, as well as Junior Adamu (+€2 million to €6 million), winter signing Ignace Van der Brempt (+€1.8 million to €3 million) and goalkeeper Philipp Köhn (+€0.5 million to €2 million) increase their values. “Köhn makes a step forward and is now the sole number one among goalkeepers,” Saviola92 says. “We will continue to keep an eye on the general level of goalkeepers, but we believe that the market in our league is still very limited.” In the complete update in the winter, there had been some downward adjustments in the keeper rankings.

Rapid Vienna: Grüll rises to €5 million – Demir drops to pre-Barça market value
Away from the Red Bulls, most of the changes can be found at record titleholders Rapid Vienna, where talents such as Bernhard Zimmermann, Martin Moormann, Niklas Hedl and Jonas Auer have attracted attention in recent weeks, all earning small upgrades. The big winner at the Green-Whites, however, is striker Marco Grüll, who rises by a whopping €1.5 million to €5 million. “The 23-year-old is arguably the best Rapid player this season, was recently called up to the national team and should be a hot candidate for a transfer next summer after keen interest in January,” the market value expert from the TM community explains.
Behind his teammate Yusuf Demir, who returned from Barcelona, Grüll is now the most valuable non-Salzburg player in the league. The 18-year-old, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to the German Bundesliga, loses a significant part of his market value for the second time in a row, being devalued by €2 million to €8 million. Saviola92 on Demir’s value: “This means he is now back to the value he had before his move to Barça. The four-time senior international was not convincing in the first weeks of his second spell at Rapid and has been more of a substitute than a regular so far. However, his market value is undisputedly in line with Rapid’s record transfer (Max Wöber), even if he will have to deliver soon.”
Sturm’s Höjlund on the up – Maresic at lowest market value since 2017
Meanwhile, Rasmus Höjlund of SK Sturm Graz is also among the big winners of the update. The 19-year-old striker, who arrived from Copenhagen in January, has settled in splendidly and rises by €2 million to €3 million euros. “Höjlund could immediately replace the most expensive departure in the club’s history (Kelvin Yeboah/€6.5 million) and has made a strong first impression in the league with four goals in four matches,” Saviola92 says. The biggest devaluation percentage-wise has to be accepted by defender Dario Maresic of LASK. The 22-year-old drops by 33.3% and is now valued at €1 million, his lowest point since autumn 2017.
