Paris Saint-Germain have signed Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz from Napoli. The Ligue 1 side announced the transfer on Tuesday evening. According to various media reports, Napoli will receive between €21.5-23 million. Ruiz has signed a contract until 2027.
The Spaniard has a market value of €55 million but would have been out of contract next summer, allowing PSG to swoop in and sign Ruiz for a deal significantly less than his evaluation. In Ruiz, the Ligue 1 champions have signed their third central midfielder. The club has already acquired Renato Sanches (from Lille) and Vitinha (from Porto).
With the acquisition of Ruiz now complete, PSG have spent €129.5 million on new players this summer. Only nine clubs have spent more in this window. With the transfer completed, Ruiz becomes the most valuable midfielder in PSG’s squad.
