Major League Soccer side Inter Miami CF have signed Corentin Jean from Ligue 1 side RC Lens. Jean has signed a contract until 2024 with a club option for 2025 and 2026. Transfermarkt understands that Lens will receive $1.2 million, just below Jean’s market value of $1.32 million. The transfer will officially go through on July 7 and make Jean one of the ten most expensive signings in club history (overview).
“Corentin Jean is an exciting, technical, and dynamic player who will bolster our attack by helping us generate more chances in the final third, contributing mostly from wide areas and giving us more depth up top,” Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said in a club statement. “We believe his quality and experience at the highest levels will strengthen our squad to help us achieve our goals this season and beyond.”
Jean joined Lens from Toulouse last season and managed three goals in 21 games across all competitions for the Ligue 1 side last season. The 26-year-old can play on both wings and as a center-forward. In Jean, the Beckham-owned club have found the much-coveted attacking option for the rest of the season. Inter Miami were also interested in Mario Götze but the German opted to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt instead.
