Bournemouth and Europa League winners Villarreal have agreed on the transfer of winger Arnaut Danjuma. The LaLiga club announced that the 24-year-old Dutchman has signed a contract until 2026.

Because his deal with the Championship club was originally running until 2024, a transfer fee will be due for the right-footed player. According to media reports, it amounts to €23.5 million – as a result, Danjuma replaces former Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcácer as Villarreal’s record signing.

Danjuma, who will train under Unai Emery for the first time on Thursday, had joined Bournemouth for €16.5 million from Club Brugge in 2019 and now leaves a significant transfer plus in the balance sheets of the English club. For the Cherries, Danjuma, who also has a Nigerian passport, made a total of 52 appearances, in which he recorded 17 goals and eight assists.
