Jamie Carragher has tipped Anthony Gordon to make the England squad after earning Newcastle a 1-0 win over Manchester United.
The Newcastle United star was responsible for scoring the crucial goal for Eddie Howe‘s side after slamming home from close range following some good work from Kieran Trippier.

While the Magpies dominated with 22 shots throughout, the impact of Gordon should not be underestimated.
That effort was the winger’s sixth goal of the season so far, having also scored against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Gordon is clearly a Man for the big occasion, leading Carragher to pile praise on the former Everton star and predict that he could yet make Gareth Southgate‘s squad for next summer.
Taking to X, Carragher said: “Anthony Gordon has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
Carry on like this and he’s going the Euros!”
Gordon is yet to win a senior cap for England, but the 22-year-old is no stranger to the international scene having scored six goals in 16 appearances for England under-21s.
He was even named as player of the tournament for the Young Lions as they won the European Under-21 Championship over the summer, showing that Gordon has what it takes to shine when it really matters.
England’s journey at Euro 2024 will see them compete against Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in Group C as they hope to progress to the knockout rounds of the tournament.

However Gordon will face stiff competition to make the cut with stars such as Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford all vying for his position.
