A fully fit Reece James is arguably Chelsea’s best player so he remains at right-back, with a rejuvenated Marc Cucurella playing on the left.
Pochettino has an abundance of quality at centre-back with Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah.

Fofana’s return could spell another selection headache given his solid individual debut season at the Blues last term before an ACL injury.
He could return to right centre-back and play alongside Silva, but the progression of Colwill could allow him to start over the veteran.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo form a near £220million midfield at Chelsea, with Conor Gallagher also featuring in the middle.
Lavia has suffered two injuries since signing and hasn’t played for Chelsea yet but could make a case for a starting role when he’s fit ahead of Caicedo and Gallagher.
Ahead of them in an attacking midfield role, Nkunku could be the Man to deliver more threat going forward, especially after such an impressive pre-season.
Raheem Sterling has scored six goals across all competitions for Chelsea this season and would start on the left, with Cole Palmer on the right as he continues his fine start to life at Stamford Bridge.
Leading the line could be Osimhen, who netted 31 goals for Napoli last season and already has six in 12 appearances this term.
Chelsea may have to spend big bucks to complete a deal halfway through the season but with Nicolas Jackson lacking in consistency, it could be a worthwhile acquisition.
