After successful Gold Cup

It is now official. US men’s national team player Sam Vines has left Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids for Jupiler Pro League side Royal Antwerp. The Belgian side made the transfer official on Thursday. Vines has signed a three-year contract. The Rapids will receive $2 million for their homegrown player—a record fee for the club

The fee will be just below Vine’s market value—the deal can, however, grow by an additional $1 million thanks to performance-based add-ons. The 22-year-old has made eight appearances for the Rapids this season (one goal and one assist) has steadily improved his market value since 2019 from $275,000 to now $3.3 million. Vines was also a big part of the US men’s national team side that won the Gold Cup this summer.
