Possible January transfer?

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé has labelled reports of him pushing for a January exit from the Ligue 1 side as “completely false” and has confirmed that he is perfectly happy at the club. The France international currently has a contract at PSG that is set to run until 2025 and is the most valuable player in the world with a market value of €160 million.

Last week, multiple reports from Spain and France suggested that the player would push for a move in the January window, after falling out with club bosses at PSG. However, the player was happy to clear up the situation after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Marseille. “I never asked for my departure in January,” said Mbappé. “The information that came out on the day of the [Champions League match against Benfica], I did not understand it. I am not involved in this information neither directly nor indirectly.”
The PSG star added: “I was as shocked by this news as everyone else. People may think I’m involved, I’m not at all. I was taking a nap, my entourage was at my little brother’s game. We were stunned when we found out. Afterwards, we had to deal with it, we had a match to play. I just wanted to say that it’s completely false, I’m very happy here.”
Mbappe linked with PSG exit – Madrid move blocked
Initially reported by French outlet RMC Sport, but then confirmed by unnamed sources to Marca, the aforementioned reports stated that the relationship between the striker and his club had completely broken down, to the point that Mbappé was set to take the decision to leave the club at the earliest possible opportunity. Intriguingly, the Spanish newspaper also reported that PSG were willing to grant Mbappé his request, as long as he didn’t depart the club for Real Madrid, who had been publicly courting the player for the past few years and even made a bid for the striker in the previous January window.

This transfer rumour was also backed up by French publication , who claimed that the striker felt “betrayed” by PSG due to a number of promises that were previously made upon the signing of his contract going unfulfilled. Speculation has surrounded Mbappé’s relationship with team mate Neymar for much of the season, following a summer of reports suggesting that the French striker wanted the Brazilian player to be sold prior to the start of this season. However, according to the French star, this is all just paper talk.
