Schalke 04 have found a buyer for Ozan KabakNorwich City have signed the 21-year-old Turkish center-back. The Guardian and Fabrizio Romano, reported earlier on Monday that Schalke and Norwich have agreed on a one-year loan deal. The deal also includes an option to buy, which is said to amount to £16 million (around €18.6 million euros). Sources in Germany have suggested that the package will be just above €17 million. Either way, it is an economically attractive package for Schalke overall.

Kabak, in the meantime, appeared to be relieved that his transfer saga is finally over. “I spoke with the head coach and I’m really impressed by his project and what he said to me. I believe in him and his project,” Kabak said in a club statement.  “I played in the Premier League last year and I really enjoyed it. So, I want to play again and that’s why I’m here. I want to play in the Premier League and to give something to the team.

Schalke, who face financial problems due to COVID-19 and the club’s relegation from Bundesliga 2, had previously hoped to sell Kabak on a permanent transfer. But no club was willing to meet Schalke’s demands. The Gelsenkirchen-based club wanted €15 million for the defender. An offer from Torino, who wanted to sign Kabak on loan for a fee of €1.5 million, was reportedly rejected.
