Third most expensive signing
Manchester United have completed the signing of Jadon Sancho on a five-year contract, making the Borussia Dortmund winger the second most expensive sale by a Bundesliga club. At United, Sancho ranks among the club’s three most expensive signings.
Dortmund had confirmed the amount on which they and the Red Devils had agreed in an ad-hoc statement in advance. €85 million were mentioned as a transfer fee – there was no confirmation of bonus payments. But even considering the basic fee, the amount exceeds all transfers that have been completed since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis. BVB “not happy about the money” for Sancho – City to receive part of fee
Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke had already stressed during a press conference after the announcement of the agreement with United: “We are not happy about the money. It was Jadon’s exemplary wish at the end of the day, we would have preferred to keep him here.
