The Colorado Rapids have pulled off a real transfer coup. The club announced the transfer of Canadian international Mark-Anthony Kaye from Los Angeles FC to Commerce City with immediate effect. In return, LAFC will receive a minimum of $1m General Allocation Money and a 2022 international roster slot.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mark-Anthony to the club and reinforce our midfield with a player of his quality,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado’s general manager. “He’s been one of the best central midfielders in the league over the last several years and has played a critical role in the success of the teams he’s been a part of. We look forward to seeing him integrate with our group as we enter the second half of the season and continue our push for a playoff spot.”

Kaye was part of LAFC’s inaugural squad and played a total of four seasons for the Californians. In 89 players, Kaye scored nine goals and set up 17 others. He is currently competing with the Canadian national team in the semifinals of the Concacaf Gold Cup. They will face Mexico on Thursday.
