Florian Valot is leaving the New York Red Bulls franchise after five years. The 28-year-old Frenchman is headed to FC Cincinnati. In return, RBNY will receive $50,000 General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2022, with $50,000 more should Valot meet various performance-based criteria.

“We are pleased to acquire a player of Florian’s quality,” FCC general manager Gerard Nijkamp said in a club statement. “He is a versatile player with MLS experience and talent who can play a multitude of positions for us, and he will bring a dynamic presence to the midfield.”

Valot joined USLC’s New York Red Bull II in June 2016. He was called up to the first team a year and a half later. Due to several knee injuries, the midfielder has only played 50 games with the Red Bulls’ first team, scoring five goals and setting up eight others.
