Convinced in training

Major League Soccer side Minnesota United have added veteran striker Fanendo Adi. The 30-year-old free agent has recently trained with the Loons and now joins the club until the end of the season. Minnesota will have an option for one additional year.

“Fanendo has been in training with us for a few days and we’ve liked what we’ve seen,” Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath said in a club statement. “We’ve had this position open and we think he’s a little bit different than everybody else that we’ve got. He’s a very impressive size: you look at him, he’s a huge man, but he’s in really good condition. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at his age, he’s 30, so there’s plenty more years in him.”

Adi is an MLS veteran. The 30-year-old striker has previously played for the Portland Timbers, FC Cincinnati, and Columbus Crew. The forward has scored 55 goals in 150 regular MLS games (including the MLS is Back Tournament).
