Mane set to leave
Liverpool are set to complete their third and possibly final transfer of the summer transfer window, with Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay reportedly set to make a move to the Anfield club in the coming days. According to the Times, the young Scottish defender will not only cost the Premier League side around €7.5 million but also signal the end of the club’s foray into the summer transfer window.
Ramsay has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time now and been heavily linked with a move to the club since the turn of the year, following an impressive breakthrough campaign with Aberdeen last season which saw him pick up no less than 33 first team appearances for the Pittodrie side. The 18-year-old talent is now set to make the move to Liverpool, where he will most likely become an understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
However, if Liverpool fans were hoping to see more business from the club this summer in a bid to make a final step up to challenge Manchester City in the Premier League, they may find themselves disappointed if reports in England are to be believed. With Jürgen Klopp & Co. now reportedly content with the players they’ve brought to the club and happy to wait until next summer to go bid on a midfield signing, such as Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Prior to the signing of Ramsay, Liverpool had made only two additions to their squad in the summer transfer window but both players do arrive at the club with a huge amount of talent and promise and will likely play notable roles in Klopp’s side next season. The first was Fulham attacking midfielder Fábio Carvalho, who made the move to Liverpool after an impressive season in the Championship which saw him bag 11 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances for the London club. Whether Carvalho will be a starter for Liverpool next season remains to be seen, but his eye for goal will surely be a welcome addition to a generally defensive roster of midfielders.

However, the club’s second signing, striker Darwin Núñez from Benfica, will undoubtedly be a starter next season after making the move to the club for a reported up-front fee of €75m. Assuming Sadio Mané and potentially even more forwards leave the club this summer, the Uruguay international may be set to lead the line for Klopp’s side next season.
