Joins his son Michael Bradley

It is now official. Just days after announcing that he was going to leave Los Angeles FC, Toronto FC have signed Bob Bradley as the club’s new head coach and sporting director. The 63-year-old will become the 12th head coach in the club’s history (see the full list here). At Toronto FC, Bradley will now have to turn around a franchise that finished second last in the Eastern Conference and conceded 66 goals.

“We are excited for Bob to get to work,” Toronto FC president Bill Manning said in a club statement. “We are entering an extremely important offseason and know we have a team that needs a significant makeover. Bob has experience putting teams together and in getting them to perform at a high level. He understands the expectations and standards of TFC and is ready to take on this challenge.”

Bradley brings significant experience to his new role. The 63-year-old is a three-time MLS coach of the year and in addition to working as a club coach, Bradley has also trained the United States and Egypt. Canada will become Bradley’s sixth country in which he has served as a head coach. At Toronto FC, Bob Bradley will also work together with his son Michael Bradley, who captains the club.
