Intermediary update Serie A
While most leagues in Europe have just started, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is now halfway through its season. With the season at the halfway point, Transfermarkt.br has updated the market values of 38 players. Among the biggest winners of the update is wing-back Guilherme Arana. Previously on loan from Sevilla, the 24-year-old is now permanently signed to Atlético Mineiro. The Brazilian youth international, who has yet to make his debut for the national senior team, has increased his market value by €2.5 million to now €8 million—that makes him the most valuable left-back in the league.
Vanderson made the biggest jump. The 20-year-old Grêmio right-back saw his market value grow by €6.5 million to now €8.5 million. The young defender is developing quickly and is now a permanent starter for his club. European clubs Milan and Brentford were recently interested.
While one young star sees his market value grow, another is once again dropping. Palmeiras’ Gabriel Veron already saw his market value drop ahead of the new season. The 19-year-old dropped once again after playing just eight games this season. The winger saw his market value drop from €18 million to now €16 million and is now third behind Flamengo stars Gabriel Barbosa and Giorgian de Arrascaeta. Veron’s Palmeiras teammate Luiz Adriano also saw his market value drop. The 34-year-old is down by €1 million to now €1.5 million.
At champions, Flamengo defender Bruno Viana is one of the biggest market value losers. The center-back is on loan from SC Braga in Brazil and has played just five games this season. The 26-year-old sees half his market value disappear to now €3.5 million. As a result, he is no longer the most valuable center-back at Flamengo; that status has now gone to Rodrigo Caio. Flamengo have an option to buy Burno Viana for €7 million.
