Salzburg superstar
Just crowned the most valuable player in the Austrian Bundesliga at the latest Transfermarkt market value update, Red Bull Salzburg‘s Karim Adeyemi is on the way to becoming a superstar. The 19-year-old doubled his market value from €10 million to €20 million. The Munich-born forward also scored in his German national team debut against Armenia. Adeyemi’s career is now being closely followed by several top clubs abroad.
Transfermarkt can confirm through multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation that Liverpool and Barcelona are interested in signing the forward. Both clubs are now preparing an offer for the upcoming winter. Adeyemi renewed his contract until 2024 in January 2020. According to sources, Salzburg will ask in the region of €30 million for the 19-year-old striker. That fee is in the same region as what Salzburg earned for Patson Daka (to Leicester City) and Naby Keïta (to RB Leipzig now Liverpool).
Liverpool and Barca are not the only clubs interested. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are currently also scouting the player, who has scored seven goals and one assist in nine games for the Red Bulls. Adeyemi also scored 19 minutes into his Germany debut. “I am flashed that I can play with so many fantastic players,” Adeyemi said after his debut. “It is incredible to be here.”

Dortmund fan Adeyemi to Liverpool? – Barca have financial difficulties
“Karim showed what he has demonstrated in Salzburg all season,” Bundestrainer Hansi Flick said about Adeyemi. “He still has a lot of work ahead of him.” Adeyemi, who is a Borussia Dortmund fan, seems to be on a good path. Barcelona, in particular, have scouted the player heavily. One major question mark, however, is whether Barcelona can afford the player given the club’s difficult financial situation. Liverpool are a different story. The Reds were conservative on the market this summer and remain on the lookout for an additional striker.
