Has Dutch citizenship

Just one day after losing to a Pacific FC side that included several former Whitecaps academy players, the ‘Caps have sent another youth product out on loan. The Major League Soccer side announced on Friday that they have loaned Simon Colyn to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven until Jun. 30, 2022. The Eredivisie side will have an option to make the transfer permanent.

“This is a great opportunity for Simon to continue his development in a very good set-up at PSV, a club he knows well,” Vancouver Whitecaps CEO and sporting director Axel Schuster said in a club statement. “We will continue to track his progress.”

Colyn made his MLS debut in 2018 but has since not featured for the Whitecaps. A dual Dutch-Canadian citizen, Colyn has previously trained with PSV. The forward recently spent eight months on loan at Serie B side SPAL
