Chelsea income rises to €100m

AS Roma and Chelsea have reached an agreement on the transfer of Tammy Abraham. On Tuesday, the Italians also announced the transfer fee that will go to London, making the striker the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.

The Giallorossi are bringing the 23-year-old in for €40 million – an amount they have paid only once before for a new player, in the case of current Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick. Abraham has surpassed Argentina’s former top striker Gabriel Batistuta in the transfer ranking and can become even more expensive due to possible add-ons. The striker’s contract in Rome is running until 2026, with Chelsea reportedly having a buy-back option in the amount of €80 million valid from 2023. The clubs have not officially confirmed this.
