With option to buy
Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls have loaned 19-year-old Uruguayan center-back Lucas Monzón from Danubio FC until Dec. 2022. The MLS club will then have an option to make the transfer permanent.
“We are happy to bring Lucas aboard our club,” RBNY head of sport Kevin Thelwell said in a club statement. “He is a young defender, who will help solidify our center back core. Having the experience at a top-level is promising for a player of his age.”
Monzón was previously on loan at Montevideo Wanderers. That deal, however, was terminated prior to his loan move to MLS. Monzón, who also holds a Brazilian passport has managed five appearances for the Wanderers this season.
