Sheffield United keeper
Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is an English international and a homegrown player – two circumstances that make the 23-year-old very expensive. According to The Times, relegated Sheffield United are asking Arsenal for a hefty €37.5 million transfer fee for their number one.
The paper reports that the Gunners already failed with two offers for Ramsdale. Sheffield United brought the Englishman, who comes from their own youth setup, back from Bournemouth for €20.5 million in 2020, making him one of the most expensive goalkeepers in football history. To date, over €20 million was paid for only 17 goalkeepers.

Complete overview
Arsenal’s Bernd Leno, who moved to London from Bayer Leverkusen for €25 million, has also been in this category since 2018. At the Gunners they want to have two strong keepers competing for the number one spot and with Ramsdale in the backhand, the club would be covered in case Leno (contract until 2023) leaves the club.
Arsenal need transfer income – Five players up for sale
Arsenal recently signed Albert Sambi Lokonga (Anderlecht) and Nuno Tavares (Benfica) for a total of €25.5 million. Negotiations are also at an advanced stage with Brighton over Ben White, who is also an English international and could leave for a rumoured fee of €58 million. Should Arsenal actually pay the money for Ramsdale and White, their spending this summer would break the €120 million mark.
There has not been any income so far, but the list of players up for sale is long, according to The Times. Sead Kolasinac, Héctor Bellerín, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lucas Torreira and Eddie Nketiah, players with a total market value of €85 million, are all allowed to leave the club.
