Red Devils get to work
Manchester United are set to make Christian Eriksen their first signing of the summer transfer window, according to reports in England. The Athletic understands that the midfielder, who left Brentford this month following the expiration of his contract, has agreed to make the move to Old Trafford, after verbally agreeing to a three-year deal with the club. The 30-year-old talent, who began his senior career at Ajax, would be new manager Erik Ten Hag’s first signing since departing the very same Dutch club.
According to the online publication, Eriksen will now undergo medical tests at Man Utd, which should reportedly provide very few issues, despite the player’s medical history. The Denmark international collapsed on the pitch at Euro 2020 after suffering a cardiac arrest and was later fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. Such a procedure meant the player was forced to leave Inter Milan due to Serie A rules, but later joined Brentford and made 11 stars in the English top flight in the second half of last season.

Eriksen first, more Ajax stars to follow – Man Utd finally get going
Indeed, while Man Utd fans may be delighted at the thought of Eriksen making the move to Old Trafford, they’ll undoubtedly demand that the club keep up the pace and make a number of new additions before the end of the transfer window. And, according to reports in England, that seems to be exactly what the Red Devils will do.
The club have been heavily linked with a move for Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia, who was reportedly undergoing a medical at the club on Monday morning and is set to complete a £13 million move (€15m) move to the club this week, according to Sky Sports. The Manchester Evening News also believe that Man Utd remain hot on the heels of Ajax central defender Lisandro Martïnez, while rumours of a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong remain as constant as ever.
