The fiesta of domestic T20 leagues across the world has finally reached the land of Nepal. After a heroic display at the recent T20 World Cup 2024, the Cricket Association of Nepal has finally taken the bold step of setting up a franchise league for cricket lovers in the country.

The inaugural season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will begin on November 30, 2024. The final of the inaugural season is scheduled for December 21. The three-week-long cricketing extravaganza is set to take over Nepal, very soon.

With a total of 32 matches played over 22 days, this tournament will showcase some of the best cricket talent in Nepal, including international stars such as Shikhar Dhawan, Bas De Leede, Ravi Bopara, and James Neesham.

How many teams will participate in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024 season?

The NPL 2024 season will see eight teams compete in the tournament. Each team brings a mix of seasoned players and young talent, both local and international stars.

What is the format of the Nepal Premier League 2024?

The tournament will follow a single round-robin format in the league stage. Each team will play against the other seven teams once before the playoffs take the stage.

After the league, the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs of the tournament. The format for the playoffs is similar to that used in the Indian Premier League.

The third and fourth-placed teams will play in the ‘Eliminator.’ The first and second-placed teams in the group stage will play in the ‘Qualifier 1′ – the winner of which, will qualify for the final.

The loser of the Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator will contest in the ‘Qualifier 2’. The winner of the Qualifier 2 will clash horns with the winner of the Qualifier 1, in the NPL 2024 final, on December 21.

What time will the matches start at Nepal Premier League 2024?

A majority of the matches of the  Nepal Premier League 2024 will start at 09:00 AM IST and 01:00 PM IST. However, the tournament opener on November 30, Qualifier 2, and Final will commence at noon IST.

Which venues will host the Nepal Premier League 2024?
