It’s a game that is usually a real battle and the fixture is made for prime-time television, with the action taking place late on Saturday.

Why is Newcastle vs Man United at 8pm?

Newcastle vs Man United will be played at 8pm due to be selected for TV broadcast.

The game was moved from a 3pm kick-off to a late start as it will be shown live on TNT Sports on Saturday night.

Usually, TNT Sports broadcast the 12:30pm kick-off, however, they have switched to 8pm due to European fixtures.

Both Newcastle and Man United are playing in the Champions League this week, meaning they can’t play in the early game to allow them enough recovery time.

It is the same for Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Brighton, Aston Villa and West Ham.

So therefore there has been no game at all chosen for 12:30pm, with the 8pm kick-off slot being filled instead.

The game will be exclusively live on talkSPORT with coverage presented by Reshmin Chowdhury.

Commentary comes from Joe Shennan and former Newcastle defender Stuart Pearce.

For fans who will be wanting their football fix earlier in the day on Saturday, talkSPORT will also have coverage of Burnley vs Sheffield United at 3pm.

Commentary for that game comes from Adam Bridge and former England defender Micky Gray.
