Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby is attracting interest from Premier League side Aston Villa and Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. However, both clubs have fallen short of Leverkusen’s €65 million valuation for the French winger, with offers of €40 million and €50 million respectively. Diaby, who can play on both wings, holds a key role in determining his next career move and is said to be looking for a significant pay rise. The player’s desire to play in the Champions League could complicate a potential transfer to either Aston Villa or Al-Nassr, making Newcastle United a possible contender for his signature. Newcastle, unlike the other two clubs, can offer Champions League football next season. Diaby’s future at Leverkusen is uncertain, as the club could look to cash in on him, having signed him for just €15 million in 2019. Since his arrival, he has made 172 appearances for the club, contributing to 97 goals. In the 2021/22 season, he had his best Bundesliga campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists in 32 league games. However, his numbers dipped slightly last season before picking up under new head coach Xabi Alonso. With Diaby under contract until 2025, Leverkusen holds a strong position in negotiations and could demand a high transfer fee for the talented winger.
