“Exploring the Rise of Jeremie Frimpong: The Most Productive Defender in Europe and Potential Target for Man United”

By

Jeremie Frimpong, the Dutch national team wing-back, has been making waves in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. His performance has caught the attention of Manchester United, who are interested in signing the right-back. Leverkusen is reportedly in no hurry to sell, and the price tag for Frimpong is set at a minimum of £50m (€57m).

Frimpong has been one of the biggest winners of the recent Bundesliga market value update, with his market value upgraded from €25m to €35m. He now ranks fifth in the list of biggest winners after Randal Kolo Muani who had the most significant increase of €28m.

Frimpong leads all defenders in Europe’s top 5 leagues with 17 goals in 36 games. According to Bundesliga.com, he has led the German first division with 834 sprints and has been the fifth-fastest player with a top speed of 36km/h. He has also won 278 duels and completed 1768 intensive runs, making him a standout player this season.

Leverkusen signed Frimpong for just €11m from Celtic, and they could now make a massive profit on the right-back. The club is not in a hurry to sell Frimpong because he has been instrumental in the team’s resurgence under head coach Xabi Alonso. Leverkusen is now the most in-form team in Germany and is seventh, just seven points behind a Champions League spot. Qualifying for the Champions League would be an enormous achievement for Die Werkself, and it will be interesting to see whether that will impact the club’s ambitions regarding Frimpong’s future.

Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing Frimpong, and they have held positive talks with his agency Prolific Sports Group. The Premier League club has been interested in the right-back for some time, and Leverkusen’s signing of Arthur from América has fueled speculations that Frimpong could be sold in the summer. However, there has been no official offer from Manchester United yet, and Leverkusen is under no pressure to sell.

If Frimpong is sold, Leverkusen will make a significant profit, with the Dutch wing-back becoming the second most expensive outgoing transfer in club history. Frimpong has been an outstanding player for Leverkusen this season, and his performance has caught the attention of top clubs in Europe. It remains to be seen whether he will stay at Leverkusen or move to a bigger club in the future, but his market value and performance suggest that he has a bright future ahead.
