Brighton have completed the signing of Rosario Central youngster Facundo Buonanotte, as the Argentinean club announced on Wednesday. The 17-year-old attacking player made his debut for his youth club in the last season and promptly became a key player. In 24 appearances, he was directly involved in six goals, making him one of the few bright spots in an otherwise mixed season for the Argentinian Liga Profesional’s 20th-place team. The player is set to join Brighton in January after the two clubs have agreed a fee of €11.58 million including add-ons, as Rosario Central confirmed in a club statement.

In Julio Enciso, the Premier League had already secured one of South America’s biggest talents in the summer. The 18-year-old has only played once in the EFL Cup this season, but the Seagulls seem to be convinced of their approach in the transfer market.

“Buonanotte is a quick player who has his strengths in one-on-one situations, especially in the attacking third,” Scott Christensen, Transfermarkt’s area manager in Argentina, said. “He is the most promising talent in the Argentine league right now.” In the latest market value update, the left-footed midfielder increased his market value from €6m to €9m, which puts him in the top 3 in the league. At the beginning of the year, he had just received his start value of €50,000.
