Combined worth of €1.06b
Following the September market value updates in the biggest leagues in Europe, the world’s most valuable XI has also been rebuilt to include new stars. Compared to June, there is an increase in the total value of those 11 players, from €1.03 billion to around €1.06 billion – mainly due to increases in market value in the midfield positions. There, the top talents Pedri from Barcelona and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund have joined the team of the most valuable football players in the world for the first time. Not even 20 yet, both are virtually irreplaceable pillars in their respective teams and therefore increased their market value in La Liga and Bundesliga by €10 million to €90 million.

Displaced by Pedri and Bellingham, West Ham star Declan Rice missed out on the most valuable XI, due to his value remaining steady at €80m, while Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has also been dropped due to a formation change that cuts down on the number of forwards on the pitch. Due to the Egyptian international’s departure, no outfield player in the side is now over the age of 25. Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is the oldest player in the team, at 30 years of age.

The four-man defence of the world’s most lucrative team remains relatively straight forward, with none among the defenders increasing or decreasing in value. On the flanks we have Alphonso Davies on the left and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, while Matthijs de Ligt and Ruben Dias are picked as the most valuable central defenders in the world. The combined value of the back four now stands at an impressive €295m.
Elsewhere in the side, Bellingham and Pedri are joined in midfield by Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, who shared the privilege of being the Premier League’s most valuable player alongside Salah prior to the most recent market value update of the English top-flight. That title now belongs to teammate Erling Haaland, who moves to the front of our most valuable XI front line, alongside PSG striker Kylian Mbappe on the right and Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid on the left, who enjoyed the biggest increase in market value among the 11 players in the recent updates.
