Last club: Olympique Lyon
According to the report by RMC Sport, Zagadou was in advanced talks with West Ham. The Premier League club have offered a four-year contract. Zagadou would have been the ninth signing for the Hammers this season. The club has already spent €182 million on new players—only two teams have spent more this summer.
West Ham now lost out to Stuttgart, however. Kicker reported on Saturday night, that Stuttgart expect Zagadou to complete his medical on Sunday. Among all free agents currently available, Zagadou is the most valuable defender.
West Ham favorites to sign Zagadou – Olympique Lyon still in the race?
Olympique Lyon were the other team interested in Zagadou. The Ligue 1 side are trained by Peter Bosz, who knows Zagadou from his time as the Dortmund head coach. Zagadou played 15 games under the current OL head coach. The Dutch head coach currently has four defenders under contract and wanted to add one more player, but like West Ham Stuttgart also seems to have beaten out the Ligue 1 side.
