Major League Soccer has released the list of the top-selling player jersey sales for the 2022 season, and Los Angeles FC star Gareth Bale ranks at the very top, ahead of Christian Fuchs (Charlotte FC) and teammate Carlos Vela. Mexican star Chicharito (LA Galaxy) and currently suspended Atlanta United star striker Josef Martínez round up the top five.

The numbers come directly from the league’s official store MLSstore.com. The top 25 includes a record-setting 15 MLS clubs, including expansion franchise Charlotte FC, who had two players included: Fuchs and Polish striker Karol Swiderski. The list also includes Taty Castellanos. The Transfermarkt MLS player of the 2021 season has been transferred to LaLiga side Girona this summer but still managed to crack the top 25 in shirt sales.

Bale, in the meantime, needed just two months to rank first in the top 25 list of best-selling MLS jerseys. The 33-year-old Welsh winger joined LAFC on a free transfer from Real Madrid on July 7 and has since scored two goals in 10 games across all competitions.
