The former from Borussia Mönchengladbach player had only joined the Serie A side in January. Half a year before the original end of his contract, the German club had received a fee of €8.6 million for him. In the current campaign, Zakaria has featured two times in four matches.
In Manuel Locatelli and Deadline Day signing Leandro Paredes, Juventus have two other players available in defensive midfield. At Chelsea, head coach Thomas Tuchel can currently only rely on Jorginho, with N’Golo Kanté absent due to injury.
Chelsea target Álvarez: Ajax midfielder not available
Recently, the Londoners had also tried to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangaré and Ajax’s Edson Álvarez and were prepared to make the latter the most expensive Mexican in history, but Ajax refused to let him leave. The Dutch transfer window already closed on August 31, so both clubs could not have reacted to a departure.
