Chelsea complete signing of Juve’s Zakaria – Álvarez and Sangaré not available

In addition to Arthur, Juventus were ableoffload another midfielder before the end of the transfer window. Chelsea completed the signing of Denis Zakaria. A loan deal with a subsequent option to make the move permanent for around €33 million with add-ons has been agreed. The 25-year-old underwent a medical in Turin in the afternoon.

The former from Borussia Mönchengladbach player had only joined the Serie A side in January. Half a year before the original end of his contract, the German club had received a fee of €8.6 million for him. At the Bianconeri, where the Switzerland international is under contract until 2026, he made nine appearances in the second half of last season. In the current campaign, Zakaria has featured two times in four matches.

In Manuel Locatelli and Deadline Day signing Leandro Paredes, Juventus have two other players available in defensive midfield. At Chelsea, head coach Thomas Tuchel can currently only rely on Jorginho, with N’Golo Kanté absent due to injury.

Chelsea target Álvarez: Ajax midfielder not available

Recently, the Londoners had also tried to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangaré and Ajax’s Edson Álvarez and were prepared to make the latter the most expensive Mexican in history, but Ajax refused to let him leave. The Dutch transfer window already closed on August 31, so both clubs could not have reacted to a departure.
