Lewandowski replacement?
Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann has underlined his club’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. The 35-year-old Bayern coach has described the Tottenham and England captain as a brilliant forward. Bayern Munich have lost star striker Robert Lewandowski this summer to Barcelona.
“[Kane] would score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga,” Nagelsmann added. “But I don’t know the price. It is difficult at the moment.” Kane’s market value at the moment is €90 million. But Manchester City reportedly offered €150 million for the Tottenham striker last season. The bid failed, however, and Kane signed a new contract last summer until 2024.
That contract, however, might open the door for Bayern to swoop in next summer as Tottenham might be forced to sell the striker when he has just one year left on his contract. Whether Kane will leave Tottenham or not will depend on his opportunities to win titles with Tottenham. “Going to Germany would definitely give him that opportunity right away [to win titles,” former Bayern Munich and Tottenham striker Jürgen Klinsmann said in an exclusive interview with Transfermarkt on Friday.

Klinsmann: “This year decisive” for Harry Kane
“Harry has that situation where he says: ‘I want to win the World Cup in Qatar, and I got to win something with Spurs,’” Klinsmann said in the TM interview. “This year is decisive for him; otherwise, you never build that confidence level.” Transfermarkt understands that Bayern under Nagelsmann would be happy to wait for year and play without an actual no.9 for a season. That strategy might help the Rekordmeister to drop the price for the English star striker.
