Red Devils get to work
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen after the player agreed to a three-year deal with the Old Trafford side. The 30-year-old talent, who is valued at €20 million, left Brentford last month following the expiration of his contract and now becomes new manager Erik Ten Hag’s second signing of the summer since joining from Ajax.
“Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started,” said the Denmark international in an interview with the club website. “I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.” Eriksen began his career at Ajax and as such will know all about Ten Hag’s management style from watching the coach work wonders at his former club.

“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day,” added Eriksen. “It is clear that he is a fantastic coach. Having spoken with him and learned more about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future. I still have major ambitions in the game, there is a huge amount that I know I can achieve, and this is the perfect place to continue my journey.”

Eriksen first, more Ajax stars to follow – Man Utd finally get going
Indeed, while Man Utd fans may be delighted at the confirmation of Eriksen making the move to Old Trafford, they’ll undoubtedly demand that the club keep up the pace and make a number of new additions before the end of the transfer window. And, according to reports in England, that seems to be exactly what the Red Devils will do.
Following the signing of Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia, who joined the club for £13.5 million (€15m) a few weeks ago, the Old Trafford side are reportedly keen on adding to their contingent of former Eredivisie players. The Manchester Evening News among others continue to report that a deal edges closer for Ajax central defender Lisandro Martïnez, while rumours of a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong remain as constant as ever.
