Forward staying at Anfield
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has put an end to months of speculation over his future at Anfield by putting pen to paper over a new contract extension. The Egypt international has been heavily linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona over the course of the past year but his new contract should keep him at Liverpool until 2025.
“I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club,” said Salah in an interview with the club website. “It’s a happy day for everyone. It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.” He added: “I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies. I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”

Salah has been nothing short of sensational since he made the move to Liverpool in 2017 from Roma for a fee of €42 million. In that time, the forward has bagged no less than 156 goals and 63 assists in 254 games for Jürgen Klopp’s team. And as a result, Salah remains the joint-top most valuable player in the Premier League with a market value of €90m.
