Eduard Löwen set to join St. Louis City SC – German youth international arrives from Hertha

Major League Soccer expansion side St. Louis City SC are set to announce Eduard Löwen as the club’s latest addition sources with direct knowledge of the situation have told Transfermarkt. The 25-year-old will be the much sought-after addition to the club’s central midfield and will arrive on a transfer from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and sign a long-term contract. 

In Löwen, St. Louis City have landed a versatile midfielder, who has prominently featured in Germany’s youth national teams. Signed by Hertha for €7 million, Löwen spent last season on loan at promoted VfL Bochum. The 25-year-old managed 26 appearances in the Bundesliga (two goals and four assists) and played a big part in the club’s successful battle to avoid relegation. 

Löwen will become the club’s fourth Bundesliga addition. The club managed by sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has already signed João Klauss (Hoffenheim), Tomas Ostrak (Köln), Roman Bürki (Dortmund), and Joakim Nilsson (Bielefeld).
