Won CPL in 2021
Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes are set to interview North Texas SC head coach Pa-Modou Kah sources with direct knowledge of the situation have told Transfermarkt. Kah is seen as a strong candidate by the Earthquakes to take over the head coaching role that became free when the San Jose-based club went separate ways with Matías Almeyda in April.
Whether Kah will get the job is another question. The interview is just the first step in a long process to determine the club’s next head coach. But the Earthquakes went above and beyond to make the interview happen. Sources have told TM that Kah was originally reluctant to enter the process due to contractual obligations with FC Dallas, which operate the MLS Next Pro team North Texas SC. The Earthquakes, however, went the extra mile to kick start the process and have already discussed potential compensation with Dallas.

It would be the first senior role for Kah in Major League Soccer. The former Vancouver Whitecaps star does, however, have a strong coaching pedigree already. In 2021 he successfully guided Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC to the club’s first league title. In an interview with Transfermarkt, Kah has made no secret about his desire to coach in MLS (read the full interview here).
