Final confirmation still missing
Major League Soccer side D.C. United have reached an agreement to sign Chilean striker Martín Rodríguez from Turkish club Altay. The Süper Lig club confirmed the deal early on Thursday morning. A report from Turkey has suggested that the 27-year-old forward has an exit clause that allows him to leave Altay for $300,000. D.C. United are yet to confirm the transfer.
Rodríguez joined Altay from Chilean club Colo Colo last summer and scored three goals and one assist in 29 Süper Lig games for the club. Based in Izmir, Altay struggled last season and was relegated to the second division. Rodríguez has also managed 12 appearances for Chile’s national team (one goal).
Oyuncumuz Martín Rodríguez, sözleşmesinde yer alan serbest kalma maddesi kapsamında, bugün itibarıyla ABD Major League Soccer takımlarından D.C. United’a transfer olmuştur.

United have been looking to add depth in the attack and were in advanced talks with Hamburger SV forward Sonny Kittel—but the deal collapsed at the final hurdle with reports out of the States suggesting that the HSV star has failed a medical.
