Bella-Kotchap joins Southampton from Bochum – “Transfer a new dimension”

By

Contract until 2026

Armel Bella-Kotchap will leave Bundesliga club VfL Bochum and join Premier League side Southampton on July 1. Both clubs confirmed the deal on Tuesday. The 20-year-old German youth international will sign a four-year contract at the Premier League club. The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of €10 million.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to secure Armel’s signing,” Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said in a club statement. “He is a player who fits our profile very well and has a huge amount of potential, but with the number of senior games he has already played he can help us immediately. I think he has made the perfect choice in wanting to join us and we will now work with him to make sure he reaches his potential both for himself and for the team.
