Free transfer
Atlanta United have signed a replacement for long-term injured goalkeeper Brad Guzan. The Major League Soccer club announced on Monday that Raúl Gudiño will join the club on July 7 on a free transfer from Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara.
“Raúl was a free agent that was well-sought after and we’re pleased to be able to secure his services for Atlanta United,” Atlanta United technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a club statement. “He’s a goalkeeper with experience in big environments and we’re looking forward to integrating him into the group.”
Gudiño arrives after having made 23 appearances (24 goals conceded and eight clean sheets) across all competitions for Chivas last season. The 26-year-old has been sharing the number one duties with Miguel Jiménez at Chivas all season.
