Aurélien Tchouameni from Monaco to Real Madrid is now in the final stretch. After French radio station RMC reported two weeks ago that the player and the Spanish giants had agreed to personal terms, The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Monaco and Real Madrid have now also agreed on a transfer fee. The deal for the 22-year-old will be completed shortly.
The French national team player will move from Monaco to Real in a deal that in its entirety will be worth €100 million. Only Kylian Mbappé, who joined PSG for €180 million, has been more expensive in terms of outgoing Monaco transfers. When it comes to Real Madrid, Tchouameni will become the third most expensive transfer in club history.

Tchouameni was involved in five goals in 50 games across all competitions. The Girondins’ academy product joined Monaco for €18 million in 2020 and while Bordeaux was relegated to Ligue 2, Tchouameni quickly established himself as a regular starter at Monaco. “Monaco are unbeaten in eleven games—that’s not just because of the attack but because of a very strong midfield,” Area Manager France Ronan Caroff said recently. “Tchouameni is an important building block in midfield and the biggest winner of the update with a new market value of €60 million.”
Tchouameni to Real Madrid – Natural replacement for Casemiro
The defensive midfielder received the biggest upgrade in the recent Ligue 1 market value update and with an increase of €20 million passed Lionel Messi and is now one of the five most valuable players in the league. At Real Madrid, Tchouameni could become the long-term replacement for Brazilian Casemiro for whom head coach Carlo Ancelotti has no alternative in the squad.
