Magdeburg sign Werder talent Halbouni: “Fulfills many parameters we searched for”

1.FC Magdeburg have signed their first new player ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 3.Liga champions have signed Belal Halbouni from SV Werder Bremen II on a free transfer. The 22-year-old center-back is a Canadian men’s national team eligible defender and managed 23 games in the Regionalliga Nord (three goals). 

“Belal is a young and talented player, who has received a very good education at Werder Bremen II,” Magdeburg CEO Otmar Schork said in a club statement. “We believe that he, together with us, can make the next step in the 2.Bundesliga.” Added head coach Christian Titz: “Belal is a development player and strong central defender, who with his speed fulfills many parameters we searched for.”
