Bayern talent
Bayern Munich talent Malik Tillman will be eligible to play for the US men’s national team in the upcoming friendly against Morocco. US Soccer confirmed on Tuesday that FIFA have approved the one-time switch of the 20-year-old attacking midfielder from the German football federation (DFB). Tillman could, therefore, make his debut for the US in the friendly against Morocco on Wednesday in Cincinnati.
Tillman was previously not nominated for Germany’s U21 squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Hungary (Jun. 3) and Poland (Jun. 7). Born in Nuremberg, Tillman is the brother of Fürth’s Timothy Tillman and has already played two games for the US’s U15 program before playing at all levels for the DFB all the way up to the U21. The United States, together with Canada and Mexico, will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A switch of associations was possible as Tillman has not yet played for Germany’s senior national team. Tillman has played four games for Bayern in the Bundesliga and was also in action in the DFB-Pokal against Bremer SV (12-0) where he scored one goal.
