2020/21 season
Despite two years of COVID-19, Bayern Munich have maintained their position in the Deloitte Money League table. According to the consultancy agency Deloitte, German record champions remain third with a turnover of €611 million in the 2020/21 season (€634m in 2019/20). First are Manchester City (€645m), who replaced FC Barcelona; the Spanish club dropped to fourth place.

Barça were first with €715 million last season. Their revenue, however, has dropped to just €582 million. The Catalans have a debt of €1.35 billion. Second in the ranking are Barcelona’s archrivals Real Madrid with revenue of €641 million.
The only other Bundesliga club in the top 20 other than Bayern Munich are Borussia Dortmund (€338m). BVB remain 12th. Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt have both dropped out of the ranking. Borussia Mönchengladbach (€178m) are the third German club ranked 26th overall.
Four English clubs crack the ranking for the first time. Leicester (15th), West Ham (16th), Wolverhampton (17th), and Aston Villa (20th). Thanks to television money and very liberal investment structures, English clubs make up the majority with 11 teams in the top 20.
Money League: Top 20 around Bayern, Barcelona & Co. generate €8.2 billion
Altogether the top 20 teams in the Deloitte Money League report generated €8.2 billion, almost the same level as 2019/20. The record was set in 2018/19 when the top 20 clubs generated €9.3 billion. On average the top 20 clubs generated €409 million each.
The biggest losses come from matchday revenue. According to Deloitte, those revenues were at the lowest point in the 25 years since the study has been introduced. In 2018/19 clubs generated €1.5 billion from matchday revenue, that number dropped to just €111 million last season.
