For 2022 season
Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls have brought back English defender Tom Edwards. The 23-year-old right-back joins the club on loan from Stoke City for the 2022 season. It will be Edwards’ second stint with the club as he already spent the 2021 campaign with the Red Bulls.
“We are thrilled to bring Tom back to New York”, RBNY head of sport Kevin Thelwell said in a club statement. “Bringing him back was a priority of ours at the beginning of the offseason because of the quality he has both on and off the field.”
The 23-year-old had a good season with the Red Bulls in 2021. The right-back, who can also play various other positions in a back four managed 28 appearances (two assists) across all competitions for the MLS club in 2021.
