Andy Carroll is expected to join Championship side West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season. According to reports by the Daily Telegraph and The Athletic, the 33-year-old will undergo a medical at the Baggies on Friday.

Carroll, now a free agent, was most recently under contract – for two months between November 2021 and January 2022 – at league rivals Reading, who signed the veteran on a temporary basis due to injury concerns in their attack. Carroll’s contract with youth club Newcastle expired last summer and was not extended. At Reading, he made eight appearances, in which he scored two goals and provided one assist.
