Wolves winger
According to media reports from Spain and England, a transfer of winger Adama Traoré from Wolves to FC Barcelona is set to be completed. The Athletic, among others, reports that Barça are on the verge of beating Tottenham, who are also interested, to the signing of the 26-year-old. A loan deal with a option to by amounting to around €35 million is being discussed. However, the deal is not done yet.
Before a final agreement can be reached, there is still “some work” to be done, as reported by the website. Spurs have been courting Traoré as well, but the Spaniard is said to be critical of a more defensive-minded role on the right at the Premier League club.
According to Sport, Traoré, who was already under contract with Barcelona from 2004 to 2015, has agreed in principle to join the Blaugranas – after the expiry of the agreed loan he would receive a four-year contract. In Ferran Torres from Manchester City, a right-footed winger has already moved to Barcelona this winter. For the 21-year-old, who originally had a deal running until 2025 in Manchester, €55 million were due, making him one of the ten most expensive signings in club history. Another €10 million could be added in bonus payments. For the Spaniard to be registered, the extension of out-of-favour centre-back Samuel Umtiti’s contract was necessary to increase the budget in terms of financial fair play.
