Pepi deal re-invested

After selling Ricardo Pepi for $18 million to FC Augsburg, Major League Soccer side FC Dallas has now re-invested a good portion of that fee. Transfermarkt understands that Dallas have completed a $7 million record transfer to sign Alan Velasco from Independiente.

Velasco is an emerging star for Independiente and with a market value of $13.2 million is the fifth most valuable player playing in the Liga Profesional (overview). A speedy winger, Velasco has scored eight goals and ten assists in 69 games for Independiente since breaking into the first team in 2019. The $7 million fee will more than double the $3 million paid for Bryan Acosta in 2019 (overview).
